Even though the Buffalo Bills got their asses kicked by the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, it sure looks like David Nelson is a winner either way.
Nelson scored the only touchdown for the Bills during last Sunday’s game.
Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver David Nelson will play against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, but his girlfriend, Kelsi Reich, a cheerleader for the Cowboys, won't be rooting for him -- on the outside anyway.
This past Sunday, Kelsi Reich was one of the most surprised people when Buffalo Bills receiver David Nelson handed her a football after scoring a touchdown.
Ironically, she was rooting against him while wearing a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader uniform.
After catching the touchdown, Nelson just ran up the sidelines, handed her the ball and gave Reisch a hug.
That is not exactly innovative, especially when you consider some of the other player/cheerleader-girlfriend celebrations that we have seen in the past.
Still, this was another moment that makes you realize why football—it doesn't matter if it is college or the NFL—is king in this country.
In other sports, you can't celebrate by running up the sidelines and giving your cheerleader girlfriend the ball that you just scored a touchdown with.
It would be interesting to see a baseball player hit a home run, go into the stands and beat up the fan that caught the ball, come back into the field, find his girlfriend and give her the ball, but, sadly, that is unrealistic.
I will say that, as someone who is not an athlete, I don't appreciate it when players like Nelson make the rest of us look bad.
